Introduction

Hey Friends,

Welcome to the Black Women and Infertility blog. It has been a long time coming. First let me tell you a bit about myself. My name is Shervonne Coney and I am the Founder and CEO of Black Women and Infertility, which was founded in 2015. During that time, I was just recently diagnosed with unexplained infertility. While trying to find a way to come to grips with my diagnose, I turned to social media. In my search, I did not find a group or outlet that I felt “seen” or “represented” in. Out of frustration, I cried out to God. It was at that time that I heard the voice of God say “Create It”. I was like “Huh, did i hear that”. Then I heard Him again “Create It, Create A Group”. One thing I know, when God speaks to you, you never forget it. So in obedience, I created a Facebook group called Black Women and Infertility. Fast forward, my group now has over 1300 member who are located in the US and internationally.

Why a blog? This blog will highlight champions and survivors in the fight against infertility. These brave women and couples, want to share their journey through infertility in hopes of encouraging someone else going through it. This blog will provide free access to a directory of experts. They are specialist, practioners, clinician and others who are experts in infertility and are culturally sensitive. Every month, one of these experts will be featured, so that you can get to know them. Lastly, you will be able to get first hand information about post, events and Merch! Ultimately, I pray that this blog will be a blessing to you and if it is, please share.

Love,

Shervonne
